Hello there!
I firstly have to say, eyeshadow palettes just happen to be my ‘splurge’ makeup product, and the product I get most excited about trying! I mean is there anything better than the feeling of swatching creamy, shimmery eyesdahows and lusting over the gorgeous colours? There are plenty of stunning palettes out there, but one that I have wanted for the longest time is Urban Decay’s ‘Naked’ palette which I have heard nothing but good things about. However due to both the price and living in Australia where Urban Decay isn’t sold, I have never been able to purchase one…until a bright sunny day last month whilst in a LA Sephora! And boy, was it worth the wait.
First up, the packaging is stunning! I love the furry brown exterior which makes the palette ideal for travel, as this will act as a soft protective layer which will prevent the eyeshadows from crumbling. The palette also comes with a double-ended brush, one end of the brush is dense (perfect for application) and the other end is duo-fibre (ideal for blending in the crease).
I wish I had purchased this palette online sooner! The variety of colours and quality of the shadows means it can replace a whole bunch of other palettes as you’re ‘go-to’ for all kinds of makeup looks. I usually use the first 6 during the day, and the last 6 for more dramatic night-time smokey eyes!
Eyeshadow swatches:
This palette has a great variety of both shimmery and matte shades, so you don’t need to use another palette to create a balanced look (which I find with some other palettes). Here is how I like to use the colours:
Highlight shades (inner corner and brow bone): Virgin, Sin
Lid shades (day): Sidecar, Half Baked, Toasted
Lid shades (night): Smog, Darkhorse, Gunmetal
Crease shades: Naked & Buck (day), Hustle & Creep (night)
My absolute favourite shades are Sidecar, Half Baked & Darkhorse – I’m a sucker for creamy shimmery shades for the lid and these beauties are definitely well-loved and well-used.
Pros:
- packaging – not only does it look lovely but is also ideal for travel
- range of colours and tones – day-to-night palette with matte and shimmery shades
- quality – the eyeshadows themselves are creamy, pigmented and long-lasting
- added double-ended brush – one side for application and one duo-fibre for blending
Cons:
- price – the palette retails for $54, but I think it is totally worth the money
- availability – if like me, you live in Australia or a country where Urban Decay products aren’t sold, you will have to order it online
I absolutely recommend this palette, whether you’re a beginner to using eyeshadows or are well experienced in the field. As far as the palette itself goes, it’s faultless in my eyes and worth the investment!

I love this palette! It was my first palette ever (that was not a quad) and was what got me hooked onto eyeshadow palettes. Coincidentally, it was also my only palette that I’ve ever hit pan on so far.

I have been meaning to get this palette! I’ve been dropping hints for MONTHS in order to get for Christmas or my birthday, no luck, haha. I wanted to get the Naked2, but when I tried some swatches at Sephora, I couldn’t pick btw the 1, 2, or 3. My wallet is praying me not to get all 3’s.

Hopefully someone gets the hints soon 🙂 it’s a hard choice between the three, but I think the first one is great for everyday, wearable colours! x

I know I love rose gold! It’s such a pretty color and that palette was just calling my name! I have just been lazy with eyeshadow this much because I have been reviewing lipstick and I don’t want to distract from it! I need to start getting into it again tho~ ♥

I have been drooling over the Urban Decay Naked palettes since they were first released, but like you, live in australia and couldn’t justify that cost. I’m SO excited that Mecca Maxima is getting Urban Decay in stores – good bye monies!!

I don’t own all the Naked palettes except for the first one, but I have to say that it is probably my favourite because it suits my skintone the best and has colours that I know how to work with. Am getting the Naked Basics palette soon too! Cant get enough of eyeshadows, esp from UD hehe 🙂
